Group Retreats
I have never really thought about going on group retreats. Like most people, I tend to think of it as a solitary venture. Get with the program. There are lots of ways a group retreat is beneficial and fun.
Many people with the same interest enjoy getting away for a bit to pursue it. Church groups certainly do it. There are retreats for yoga, art, music, crafts, culinary arts, and writing. Whew, I am exhausted just thinking about it.
A lot of retreat centers now cater to class and family reunions. I'll bet that had not occurred to a lot of people. How about a wedding retreat? Most people cannot rent out an entire facility as Carrie Underwood did, but wedding retreat packages can be affordable. Everyone in one place, less stress for the happy couple.
Of course getting away for a spa retreat with a couple of your best girlfriends sounds like fun. Renting a house or villa in an exotic location is much more affordable if you split the cost with a group of friends or family.
I know a lot of families who are spread far and wide across the country. Why not choose a central location and have everyone come there. You won't have to pull out the sofa bed and inflatable mattresses. You won't spend all your time cooking and entertaining various family members. Someone else will make the plans and you will all just enjoy your time together.
If you belong to a club or service organization, you may find a retreat that reflects your interests and lets you learn new skills. The possibilities are endless.
