Island Retreats
Not a single one of my friends has a private island. In fact I don't think I'm even remotely acquainted with anyone who does. I am very surprised to find that you can actually rent an island retreat and some of them are within a normal person's price range. Who knew? For the rich and famous island retreats are only a huge paycheck away.
Of course when one thinks of an island retreat, Hawaii or Key West comes immediately to mind. They certainly do have them in the Hawaiian Islands as well as the Caribbean. These are in well populated areas, close to civilization. You can easily go out to dinner or shopping from these resorts.
When I say private island, I mean not another living person is around. You, your guests, and the native animals are the only inhabitants. Would this not cost a small fortune? There are remote island rentals to be had for as little as $100.00 a night. They range from grass hits to elaborate villas in exotic locations.
Of course, there is travel involved, but wouldn't it be worth it to experience a private retreat. Your meals would be delivered once a day and beyond that, you are on your own to enjoy the views, swim in the ocean, and explore the natural surroundings. They are as close as the Florida Keys or as far away as India, Africa, or New Guinea. Talk about getting away from it all!
One of the retreats I looked at includes a castle. When will you ever have the chance to stay in a castle? If you have something simpler in mind, check out Sindabezi Island on the Zambezi River. You can stay in an open sided grass hut and soak up nature to your heart's content. You can stay on a remote Falkland Island with sheep and penguins for about $60.00 a night. It's hard to find an ordinary motel for that price.
Most of the private island retreats can house ten guests or less so they will definitely be private. If you want to be around a lot of people, then by all means go to Hawaii. For those who want to be alone, check out a private island retreat.
